The Double Dutch Aunties Trilogy

A coming-of-age story rooted in the Bronx, where friendship, culture, competition, education, love, and ambition begin between two turning ropes.
The series follows Fatimaah, Tracey, Daysia, and Kendra, four girls whose childhood bond is strengthened through the rhythm of Double Dutch. What begins in neighborhood schoolyards grows into performances, competition, lifelong friendships, college dreams, careers, entrepreneurship, and a commitment to giving back.
Book One — Bronx Born, Rope Raised
This is where it all begins. Growing up in the Bronx during the golden era of hip-hop, four young girls discover friendship, first love, competition, and possibility while Double Dutch becomes the rhythm connecting their lives. From schoolyards and neighborhood blocks to iconic NYC experiences, the ropes teach them discipline, confidence, teamwork, and sisterhood.

Book Two -
Beyond The Ropes
The girls leave the familiar streets of New York and step into a new chapter—college life, HBCU culture, higher education, relationships, athletics, internships, independence, and discovering who they are becoming. Distance may separate them, but the sisterhood created between the ropes continues to shape their choices and their futures.

Book Three -
Bronx Streets
Executive Seats
The journey comes full circle. The girls who once dreamed together in the Bronx are now accomplished women building careers, businesses, families, and legacies. They discover that success isn't simply about how far you travel—it's about remembering where you started and creating opportunities for the generation coming behind you.

JUMP Pink:
Jumping for the Cure
Empowering Survivors
Two Ropes. One Cause. A Community United.
Each October, Double Dutch Aunties turns the ropes pink for our annual Jump Pink Campaign, bringing together Double Dutch, fitness, sisterhood, and community service in support of breast cancer awareness.
Since 2007, Coach Kizzy and her community have supported the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, raising funds and participating in Making Strides walks in multiple cities.
From NYC to Charlotte to Atlanta
Over the years, our Jump Pink community has participated in:
New York City — Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Central Park
Charlotte — Making Strides in Uptown Charlotte
Atlanta — Making Strides at Atlantic Station
Jump Pink gives our jumpers, families, supporters, and community partners another reason to pick up the ropes—to honor survivors, remember those we've lost, support those currently fighting, and help fund the fight against breast cancer.
More Than a Walk. We Jump.
During the campaign, we encourage our community to wear pink, jump pink, walk together, raise funds, and spread awareness.
Jump Pink also creates opportunities for community jump sessions, fundraising challenges, pink Double Dutch merchandise, pop-up events, survivor recognition, and corporate or community teams.
Every jump has purpose. Every step makes a difference.

Meet the Author

Coach Kizzy founded Double Dutch Aunties in 2016 to help preserve the culture of Double Dutch while creating new ways for children, adults, families and communities to experience it through recreation, competition, education and entrepreneurship.
Her work connects the nostalgia of New York City street-style Double Dutch with structured youth development, competitive athletics, community events and storytelling. The trilogy brings that mission to the page—turning lived culture into a multigenerational story about sisterhood, discipline, resilience and what happens when girls are given room to dream.
“We are more than a game. We are culture. We are discipline. We are sisterhood. We are legacy.
